Risk management assessment of the current police department facility

In the fall of 2022, Primex (the Town’s insurance company) provided a risk management assessment of the current police department facility. This assessment was at the request of the Chief of Police. The purpose of this assessment was to identify potential safety hazards and deficiencies of the current police facility. Representatives from Primex toured the police facility, to get an in-person understanding of the current facility.
It was determined by the assessment team that the current police facility is deficient in several instances. Some areas noted as being deficient were, access and security of the facility, insufficient storage solutions, lack of site/sound privacy to separate prisoners and visitors, lack of a cyber security plan.
The results of this assessment were for informational purposes and provide recommendations on how to fix such deficiencies. Additionally, the results of this assessment did not impact any current insurance rates on the town.
